64 bit Redirection Problems

Postby durech » Thu Aug 25, 2011 5:54 pm

I am running on a 64 bit Windows7 system and am having problems with what I think is the WOW64 Redirection (but, I am not sure). First, I have disabled WOW64 Redirection (via "Disable Wow64 Redirection Action). Later, when I attempt to get a string for the registry key = "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\1.6" & value = "JavaHome" (which has a value of "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6" as displayed in the RegEdit), I always get a return value of "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6". I have tried using both <%RegValue key value%> as well as the following code:

Code: Select all
set key {HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\1.6}
set val "JavaHome"
if {![catch {registry get $key $val} path]} {
    ::InstallAPI::SetVirtualText -virtualtext jrePath -value $path

I am trying to customize the Locate Java Runtime Search Path to only search several paths from the registry (this example being one of them. If I hard-code the path as "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6" in the Action's Search Path value it will locate it the java.exe file. Any help would be appreciated.
